Little Rock changes?

With Citadel putting "Praise FM" into a trust today, have their been any other changes, like to 1250? WKY in Oklahoma City, which Citadel is retaining, broke its simulcast as required with KINB, which was put into the trust, and is airing an automated countdown.

KARN-FM 102.9 has had to split from their simulcast with KARN-AM920. News/talk remains on the AM, while the FM is airing the audio from CNN's TV network. From what I've heard, Citadel is expecting the situation to be resolved by, possibly, the end of this week or early next week. It's all part of the purchase/merger with the ABC stations.

I saw that there was a note on KARN's website stating that they couldn't simulcast on 102.9 until they got the last of the FCC issues completely taken care of. Apparently, it has to do with them pulling it out of the trust and putting KOKY into the trust in its place.

Any word on what 1250 is doing? I noticed it's clearly off the Praise FM page.

they took KOKY back OUT of the trust and put 102.9 back in.

they're still trying to figure out which way it's going to go i guess...

KPZK 1250 is simulcasting Power 92 as of 7:00 tonight.

Thanks for the information! It will be interesting to see how all of this, plus possible Clear Channel divestitures shake out.

back in the day, AM1250 was KALO and eventually KOKY (someone will correct me if i'm mistaken, please!) - THE urban station and it was the [EDIT]. their transmitter used to be off old cantrell road where, last time i was home, there's a dixie cafe' parking lot or something there...it was in the middle of a pit back then, right in front of the old 'wine cellar'.

you had people like Roshon in the morning, Trupedo Crump and i believe a "Larry O'Jay" on the air there - but it was where all the funk was to be found. partnered with the legendary Z98/KLAZ across the hall.

those were some FUN radio listening times. the music sounded better then too...LOL

[EDIT-profanity]

I had the pleasure of working with Trup in Pine Bluff. He had worked at KCAT and we worked together at KCLA before he moved on and wound up at KALO during the Ron Curtis ownership days.

I almost got a job at KALO back when I think it was Larry Hayes doing mornings. I was a country music fan though and ended up doing part time weekends on KXLR and eventually ended up at KAAY when Ray Lincoln took over as PD. I did weekend overnights and got mail from all over the place. KALO seemed like it was happening back in the day.. it is funny to listen to the airchecks now and to see just how bad it really was back then.
