This is my first time posting. I see now that Little Rock has no oldies station. I just wanted to see if anyone on the board remembers Cool95 Koll. This was my most favorite radio station of all time and I have never even lived in Little Rock. I have lived in memphis my whole life but I remember listening to that oldies station every summer on the lake. It also appears that ever since clear channel has gotten rid of the oldies on that signal, that signal has been basically worthless. I just wanted to see what yalls thoughts were on this once great station and also its sister Majic 105. Its a shame that Clear Channel had to come along and ruin these two great stations.

I beleive the Oldies are on 106.3 if not mistaken. it doesn't have as good of a signal as 94.9. Magic 105 suffred from bad ratings.
Yeah, I too enjoyed Cool 95, although I was initially disappointed when the format was changed to oldies from being rock station KZ95. If you want to hear an aircheck of Cool 95 from 19 years ago, here's a link to an MP3 I posted on my web site a while back.

I was in high school when the station became Cool 95 and it exposed me to a lot of oldies I hadn't heard before. The aircheck is of midday jock Sherry Brooks, who was a mentor of sorts for me as I got into radio and gave me several airchecks over the years. Unfortunately it only includes when the mic was open. I wish I had the jingles and other elements that gave it such a good sound. I was also good friends with overnight jock Doug Clifford (aka Doug Mandella) and used to go up there and hang out. I still think about that station when I drive by the old shopping center on Rodney Parham where it was located back then, long before becoming part of clear channel. It's funny how sentimental I feel when I drive by places that used to house stations long ago, before the days of warehouse radio.

KSSN was on Cantrell west of University
KIPR was in an office building near University and the mall. Can’t remember the cross street.
106.3 was in Lonoke
KAAY was on I-30
KKPT was on Cottondale
100.3 was in NLR on Main street
Heaven 107.7 now Alice was on 8th street in a concrete bunker.
Star 102.1 was above Juanitas then we moved to the Plaza West building with Power 92
Foxy 99 and now Radio Dismal is located in Plaza West Building.

They called the building on 314 N Main RADIO CENTER. It was the home of KEZQ 102.9, KDDK 100.3 and a AM gospel station that was leasing studio space. The gospel station was evicted and their studio was turned into a production room for KDuck 100. When KEZQ was sold te space was leased to BJ Kaplan a local production guy. Magic 105 moved in later and Clear Channel took over about that time.
