LIVE 105-3 Goes Country

If 105-3 changes formats, one would think they might go Rock, however, there are already 3 other rock stations: Bone, Eagle, Lonestar.

So since CBS knows how to do a solid country format, I think they should go all out and go COUNTRY. But give it a fresh Top 40 sound and imaging similar to their new Top 40 in Houston. Hot 95-7.

Anything but Spanish? That's kind of a broad stroke. Arbitron officially recognizes 10 different Latin formats. Maybe there's at least one to your liking.

Latino Urban
Mexican Regional
Spanish Adult Hits
Spanish Contemporary
Spanish Contemporary Christian
Spanish News/Talk
Spanish Oldies
Spanish Religious
Spanish Tropical
Spanish Variety
Tejano

No, and as they say south of the border... No. ;D

It would be nice to hear a Hot 95.7 type format. Especially with the departure of the rhythmic format that Casa had, and the competition they can give Kiss. Hold on, I forgot about the failure of Hot 100.

I think Hot 100 / Wild 100 failed due to a number of things, including too much saturation in the market at the time, not enough music to take a bit of a different lean, and the BIGGEST thing, they wouldn't leave it alone, and continued to tweak it to high heck.
Now, if they can program it solidly (which I believe it can), I think they could take a bit away from kiss, which would be enough to push up their other stations!

I personally believe it's about time for a music station like 95.3 the range or the like such as true indie, to get some money behind it. With the shift in the way records (cd)s are being sold or for that matter not being sold in a physical form, but digitally, through downloads, the amount of music that people can easily be exposed to is much greater than before. Not to mention the shift of distribution channels available to new and established acts.

To be honest, I would say that 80% of the stuff I listen to was found through online non-traditional outlets, ie- streaming alt country websites, and myspace, etc...

Wow. Yet ANOTHER country music station. As if we don't already have enough with the 3 or more that we already have. And top 40? Try 99.5 the Wolf. Hooray, we get to hear Carrie Underwood 50 times in an hour. Woo hoo. :-\

Give D/FW its first full signal Urban AC or Black Gospel station

I wouldn't be opposed to bringing back Young Country. If you had the right personalities and the right people programming it, it would definitely be good. Plus, if you didn't have all the Corporates screwing things up. But please don't bring back Smooth Jazz. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Salem, if they did that, imagine how happy the people on this board would be......
::)

changing formats seems like the right thing though. It seems FM Talk has run past its course. however, it probably won't happen anytime soon.

LOL true...There are too many stations that cater to Negroes now.
I wonder how many posts would be on this board if Willis Johnson or Michael Basiden beat up a woman.

Oh heaven forbid if we get another station playing that "crap" music.... And the only urban station that we need is one that plays Keith Urban...... ;D

Personally I would like to see a neo-soul format, but the demographics in D/FW just won't allow it. This market loves the dirty south rap, which has no redeeming value IMO.
