So now that Stern is gone (and good riddence to that filth!) how long do you think Live 105 will live before they kick the bucket? Everyone knows that stern carried the station....It certainly wasent their music (If I have to hear one more Emo song....AHHH).

the question is...do they Bill well? Their NTR events do well
Alice's ratings are south of good, but they make money

And CBS (Infinity) seems more than willing to let their lower rated stations carry on for years. One of their execs or PDs (don't remember who) recently painted a rosy picture of Alice, saying that yes- they'd like to get the overall ratings up, but that the station bills well, and they are hitting the target audience they are after. Remember how long they kept "Young Country" (93.3) going.

Live 105 isn't going anywhere, especially with 104.9 gone now (not that their south bay signal ever posed any real threat to KITS). Live 105 has no competition anywhere in the bay area so it really doesn't matter much. I would really like to see another rock station surface on a decent SF signal.

In the last year or so CBS has been more willing to flip formats on low rated stations. For example just the other day in Portland they flipped a low rated AC to oldies (with a playlist very similar to the new KFRC).

Still, CBS is not nearly as aggressive in changing formats of underperforming stations as Clear Channel is. CC has flipped many of it's dogs, which has helped them gain share in several markets.
