Yes, "K-GAY" on Live 105 is an annual event. But it *was* a bit different this year. Normally they hire guest jocks (local gay celebs, drag queens, etc). But this time it was jockless for long stretches and they did live afternoon remotes with their regular jocks from places like the Pilsner Inn. And the music mix was not as cartoonishly gay as in the past (less Village People, more '80s New Wave dance hits). But it's still a hoot, and I can't imagine it happening in any other market. In fact, with Energy doing a weekend-long "Pride Mix", and tweaking Live 105 with liners that said "WE'RE out-and-proud 24/7/365", we effectively had 2 gay stations for 60+ hours. I'm curious how much airtime NYC's 2 dance stations gave to actually talking about Pride Weekend.
