Live 105's logo

Really? I don't see anything sports-related about it. The stencily, paint-splattery look dates back to the 1980s ... this appears to be a variation on the same theme:

They have variation that is the same thing ... only with the Raiders logo replacing the "0" in 105, but that ain't a big deal.

CBS Radio-San Francisco has a lot of sports guys working in that building and could easily put together a staff. And a sports station on the FM dial would draw more revenue and listeners than music does. They also could acquire almost any sports franchise play-by-play it wants (except the Giants) for "a song." I think getting the Raider broadcasts is a "toe in the water."

Acording to All Access, KITS is now 20th in the 25-54's. My guess is tht if all goes well with the raiders on Live 105 this season that Live 105 will be flipping to sports soon. Myself, I would like to see a plain ESPN Radio feed on FM, like KRER 101.7 in Chico or XS Sports 96.1 in Redding, which is ESPN Radio with Giants Baseball. Although I'd still listen, I like sports talk but don't have FM on my Insignia Portable.

I won't be surprised if 105.3 flips to sports as 105.3 The Fan. If that were actually to happen, you think Cumulus would respond back by doing KNBR-FM?

I don't see that, if 105.3 flips to sports, thats more power for KFOG and KSAN as they will benefit being the only Alternative/Rock stations with the exception of KSJO.

I like listening to Live 105. It sounds a lot like 101X here in Austin. Now if Live 105 had the Jason and Deb Morning X Show, that would be totally killer for the Bay Area; these two are funny as hell! ... I miss listening to KFOG too.

The baseless speculation on these boards is always entertaining. Every time a station does something a little different, people jump on here to say that it's gonna flip.

Though I must say their street team looked pretty cool at the game, in their Raiders jersey-like tees with "105" on them.

Alas, nobody from local CBS produces the game. It's farmed out to Compass Media. Their crew in the booth was only vaguely aware of who/what Live 105 is.

Dave Sholin doesn't know who/what Live 105 is?

Oh, and Tim Jordan, also from CBS/SF. And Bruce Macgowan (pre- and post-game host) has to count in there, too. He was in the booth before the game started.

I didn't talk to any of them. And they would't deign to talk to an NFL frequency coordinator at any rate... ;)
