Live 99.5 - New York's New Alternative?

What's up with this website: http://www.live995.com?
I highly doubt WBAI is flipping to Alternative Rock tomorrow (8/14).

It's not. There was a whole thread discussing it over on Dentist's board, but apparently he felt that it was too important a topic or something and deleted it. My response was this:

The "wave" in question is waveny.com, apparently a computer repair place of some kind that also does some ISP stuff. They also have altcomzone.com (comedy news), sispot.com (currently inactive), and waveb2b.com. Their HQ is at 1200 Richmond Ave in Staten Island. There's a phone number too, but I don't know if we want to go that far. I don't think there's anything here.

Sooooo....what is the deal with this? I launched the player and it says New Yorks New Alternative.

I hear Queens Of The Stone Age, now Jet....Liners say 'New Yorks New Alternative'

What is going on?

NY finally get an Alternative? Some corporate consultant realize that there may be a void in the #1 market in the world?

Huh? What?

I checked through the two sites on the web stream that WBAI is still on the air as a Pacifica while "Live 99.5" is now running different music. The one thing is that WBAI is not flipping its format. It should keep it as a Pacifica station, but the "Live 99.5" thing on the other hand is certainly a pirate. I checked those two streams that running on these two stations on a same frequency, but thanks for pointing it out.

Not new york, not even philadelphia

I note the owners of the live995.com domain are in Germany. My guess is that there's going to be a format change over there tomorrow.

When did Germany annex Pennsylvania?

My post probably could have been better worded... by "over there" I meant Germany... as in, a *German* station was going to change format today.

But apparently not.

So this is nothing more than a netcaster, and not a pirate? I was going to ask yesterday if anyone actually heard a signal in NYC somewhere, but ran out of time during lunch.
