Live DJs on Earl FM!!!

It started out with the "We Play Everything Lunch Hour" with Joe. Then they expanded his shift from mornings until the afternoon. Then today driving home from work there was another guy on there (forget his name) doing a drive time show on Earl FM. And, unlike Jack, they were taking requests. I wonder if Jack will add a few live DJ's to compete with Earl.

I won't even attempt to spell this correctly, but...

WHOOOOOP DEE FREAKIN DOOOOOO!

This is actually considered a newsworthy story by someone? The station should've never NOT had live DJs in the first place!

well, for Knoxville radio - this is big news. The Tri-Cities and Knoxville are completely different from each other. First of all you all have halfway decent radio and second, you all have alot of news to talk about. Here in K-town, NOTHING major has happened to our stations in atleast 2 years now. No format changes, nothing. So when something as minor as a DJ being added to Earl FM, yeah it becomes big news for us because that's all we've got right now. We're desperate man. It's almost to the point to where we're ready to start making stuff up about Knoxville radio stations and swear that it's all true. It may not be big news to you, but hopefully it will be enough to get us Knoxville radio guys together to talk about something - anything. You know, this news would make a good headline for the New York Times though! I think I'll call them right now! Just kidding man.

Rocky, I thoroughly enjoyed your post. You're on my radio-info "good list" now. I'm not a fan of the JACK format, actually I hate it, but I happen to be very loyal to Earl's sister station so if they can succeed with what they're doing, more power to 'em, glad you got something to cheer about in Knoxville!

I don't care for the Jack format either. Our Jack station here sounds like a mess. It has from day one. Actually, I'm not a huge fan of Earl either. It and Jack are good stations to turn too when my favorite station goes to commercial. The radio may stay on Jack or Earl for a few songs but it always gets turned back to the station I've listened to for years within a few minutes. I don't know about the Tri-Cities but here, Jack and Earl both have been huge failures so far. I may be wrong but I don't think they're even in the top 10. It won't be long until one of them flips to another format. Oldies has been gone for a year now and the music has had a time to rest. I think a return to that format here would be very welcome. By the way, I've always enjoyed reading posts from all you guys from the Tri-Cities. I always get a good laugh reading some of those posts.
