Live overnights

The Fan will have a live and local 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. shift and a 2 to 6 a.m. show as well. Are they the only station in town that's live and local in the overnight hours?

I think they are Boss Radio. Do you know what kind of weekend programming the fan is doing?

I think the last station to go live and local overnight was probably Bob Logue on KDKA-AM. It will be interesting to see how it works for The Fan or if they eventually opt for syndicated fare during those hours.

According to Bob Smizik's blog at the PG, 10pm-2am will be done by Andrew Filliponi, who last worked in Buffalo and Chris Mueller, who won a talent search on 1250, will be doing the 2am-6am shift.

Most of the "regulars" are working six-day weeks, so they'll be doing Saturday or Sunday shows, some of them solo rather than as teams.

Being from Buffalo, he's not bad. Definitely young but at least he knows hockey and football.

That reminds me of the days when 1250 was just switching to full-time sports talk, and they had Rocco Pendola doing the evening shift.
My car had broken down and I was having to spend the evening of July 4 in my garage repairing it instead of down at the Point
taking in all of the revelry. For some inexplicable reason they had Rocco working a live shift that evening. I had him on in my garage,
and to my recollection, he received exactly 2 phone calls during his shift....one of those being a crank. Never felt so bad for a guy
trying to fill long stretches of airtime all by himself. Hope the Fan overnight show does not turn out that way.
