Live vs. Voice tracked..

I'm not sure where to start, so here I go...

Kiss FM is terrible. The only Live show is DJ Thomas, she deserves better. I see her either at FLY or NYC soon. The only thing about FLY I'm not liking is the repetitiveness of the songs. Sometimes they have a Throwback 90s, which TO or KC should permanately put in their rotation. More 90s, more variety!

I like the River, again the only thing it's not Live, except for again mornings.

XM or Sirius, intriuging...

Weekday Afternoons & Evenings during the school year
& Summertime weekday mornings & early afternoons are
ALWAYS LIVE on BERKSHIRE COUNTY'S ONLY ROCK STATION
89.7 FM WTBR in PITTSFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS, U.S.A.

Many years ago, Pittsfield had a live commercial rock station...(95.9) WGRG...96 FM/1110 AM....

WBRK am=Live Mornings till about noon.
Then goes from a bird in the sky.(local news)
WBRK fm= Texas Satellite feed with local ads & wx
1110/100.1-whoopee fm =fed from 211 Jason st.
95.9 = see above(swap offs of live/v.t.)
1420 am=30 minutes possible 5x per week & news breaks.
860/94.1 WSBS=local mornings & news
89.7 WTBR= COMPUTER in STUDIO/LIVE TALENT
From Pittsfield Area & Some V.T.(WX is NWS)
1230 WNAW=Local/vt/whatever

Here's a good instance where voice tracking is a joke: Krista Jones on WRWD last thursday announced the weather as rain all day,as there wasn't a cloud in the sky. BUSTED. So typical of the quality broadcasting from the Cheap channel cluster****....as if " A FEW MINUTES AFTER ELEVEN OCLOCK " didn't tip you off.....

590buddy ;D

KISS fm is garbage and in my opinion a waste of airspace!!

One time someone who works @ 96.3 emailed me and asked me to tell him what they could do to get me to listen.......... Heh,i said "STOP PLAYING ALL THAT HIP HOP GARBAGE AND ILL LISTEN" (R&B is awesome,TODAYS HIP HOP IS UTTER GARBAGE)

All part of the reason why Gen Y has abandoned radio for alternative platforms. Gen Y by the way does not reference a demographic, but a practical mind-set. All my music listening - home and away (car included) - is iPod based (my car interfaces with my other devices via WiFi so I only have to program one to program them all, including the car) and my news and information is via the variety of "alerts" and streams delivered to my via Internet on a real time basis.

It has been a very long time since I have listened to the radio for either entertainment or critical information. Voice tracking is just progress as the corporate raiders try to wring the last dime from the medium for which they are a major cause of death. Five years ago they could have interfaced with the New Media and taken radio to new highs but they invested all their resources into the HD dead-end and tore through the real value of their properties (their people) like a Biblical plague.

Can you only tell Voice track when someone messes up the weather or finagles the time? Here's a question for you... name at least one top 5 station that is still live 24/7 at least m-f....note...weekends are 90% live!
