Is Liz gone from WATD? I heard that she was because of some circus animal comments? Her info is gone from WATD site.

I heard today from two folks at WATD that Liz's last day was last Friday and after 20 years she left to pursue other opportunities.

Well Ed Perry doesn't pay his overnight staff, claiming it is an internship, or an opportunity to learn the craft, and they will get on the air eventually.

Unless it is a bona fide internship through a school IMHO IANAL this is 1000 percent illegal.

Cripes WPLM offered me 15 bucks an hour 18 months ago to do weekend overnights, you think Ed Perry could come up with 8 bucks an hour for David at WATD

Anyone can do an internship... But, that intern cannot replace as paid employee. If overnights were a live paid position till he started using interns and the paid person was fired this would be illegal. The one sticking point to this is that if they were ever confronted about it, they could claim that it would normally be an automated (bird fed, etc) timeslot.
