LLoyd Robertson announces retirement!

At the end of the CTV 11 pm news, he announced that he "will be staying on for at least one more tv season". and then he will retire in the latter half in 2011. Tomorrow night his permanent successor will be named.

Any guesses?

I think it's between Sandi Rinaldo and Lisa Laflamme.
 
Sandi Rinaldo is most likely the week-end/fill in person (winning the runner up prize! :D ;) )
 
If they can move their National Newscast to 630/530p instead of 11pm and move the CTV late newscast from 11:30p to 11p. That will be great.

I highly doubt that will happen. CTV gets very good ratings at 11 for their newscast, and I don't think they would want to mess with that.

That said, while I like the idea of an earlier national newscast, I can't see them wanting to compete directly with Global National. Ideally I'd like them have a national newscast at 6:30 with a local news block from 5-6:30, but I doubt they would want to do two national newscasts in one day.

...adding to that the idea that their sister all news CTV station will most likely continue to air national news at 11pm.

No need to compete with themselves!
