While reading the Eileen Herlie obit in Variety, I found this. Didn't know Thaxton helped to start 'Tiger Beat' magazine. I never got to see his 1960s show, but would later hear the Go-Go's reference it in their song 'Beatnik Beach'. Thaxton was sure busy behind the camera later on. Interesting that he was working on a DVD compilation of his show at the time of his death.
