LM378N

Check your parts bins...anybody have an LM378N collecting dust? The Cue/Headphone amp in LPB consoles has two of them. The ECG replacement has several pins connected together (for heat sinking?) and therefore won't fit in the 14 pin socket. Thanks for lookin'... LPB answers the phone & promises to check their stock & then never returns calls.

They answered the phone, but after promising to check stock & call me back, they never did. The guy answered the phone "hello". I got an ECG804 on Ebay, but it has 3 pins connected together on each side, making it unusable in a socket. The NTE shows a picture which leads me to believe it will fit (pins connected together, but there are actual pins on it, whereas the ECG has 1 wide metal pin on each side), but I was hoping someone might have a parts bin with an actual LM378N to remove all doubt. Thanks for the lead...I'll take another chance if no "real" LM378N's show up...

It seems like the big commercial parts outfits can get them, but they have minimum orders of $250 or so.
There is a ham who posts parts inventory lists, and he claims to have 5 of them.

Check his page at : http://hamradio.cmcorp.com/inventory/LINEAR/National.html

Good luck

This is just the kind of lead I needed. Let's hope it pans out. I do keep running into the huge minimum order problem as well. Thanks George!
