Local boys make it two in a row...

I don't want to take anything away from BJ and his crew because they have busted their tails to be successful, but in this day and age of radio, most companies are either paying a single jock 20 grand to spin music in the morning or are forced to carry a synicated show that corporate forced them to run. So there really isn't any competition out there for the award they won.

That being said, give BJ and his team credit for being one of the very few that has succeeded after Howard left for satellite. And kudos to the brass at Entercom for investing in a local morning show and realizing the importance staying local.

Is it ever possible for people to just say good job without all the bitter crap.

There is nothing bitter about my comments. I thoroughly enjoy their show, but I'm just stating the facts when it comes to having full fledged local morning shows these days.

I love those boyz. They bust their ass for that show. They deserve much more than a b.s. FMBQ award. Congrats fellas!

Agreed, to the congrats. Enjoy the show a lot.
By the way, what is local radio anyway? (kidding....sort of)
Not much of that anymore.

I don't listen much to B.J. but then I don't listen much to talk-centric morning shows anymore. I'm post-Howard.

B.J. is a great guy however. He has no pipes and talent but he's genuine, funny and true and he doesn't let it get to his head. He's just a regular guy who knocked up his wife, worked hard and survived. I should tune in more often.

I am happy for BJ. He works hard and losing Howard was good for KISW. Howard is just collecting his 401K or should I say 401Million.

I've started listening daily in May of 2005 while the show was still on The Buzz and haven't looked back since.

BJ, Double R, Toppy, Steve, En Fuego and the interns work their asses off to present the coolest, hippest and most entertaining radio shows I have ever heard. If any one show on the air today represents the current, cool, hip, male-oriented Seattle audience, The BJ Shea Morning Experience IS, WAS, and HAS BEEN FOR QUITE SOME TIME NOW the best local morning show in town.

KISW is THE only station since the post-Stern era to have a successful show in morning drive. No one else in the country can begin to type the last sentence I typed. No One.

Actually there are several successful post Stern shows, mostly in NON-CBS markets, where the station took great local talent and gave them free reign. I don't have the list in front of me but I know that Sebastion in Hartford is one, and I have heard of many others.

Clearly you work for BJ. Not to take away anything from his success, it is remarkable.

Hey "Ben Dover" or whoever it is from the BJ Shea show that owns that account, congratulations to you guys but it's too bad you have to pat yourself on the back with this accolade rather than another person recognizing it and posting here.
Congrats though guys

I don't listen to BJ's show but my guess on why another poster didn't bring it up, is because the Seattle board is consumed with nothing but Mamma yapping about Movin', DJDAN telling everyone for the millionth time to look at the 4 book, and the Country station battle.

Kudos to BJ and the rest of his team for a job well done.
