Technical engineer for KTRH Radio, David Armstrong (69), was found dead at the station’s transmitter site on FM 1413 near Dayton by a tower crew coming to meet him there. JP#4 Glenn Pruitt ordered an autopsy but a heart attack is suspected.

:'(
This is a sad time for all of us who had the honor of working with him. David was a truly generous soul who took his co-workers under his wing and always had a warm hello for anyone he came into contact with. He will be sorely missed.

This is a sad day for me.... Haven't talked to Mr. Armstrong in over 20 years...

I remember David Armstrong form his days at KEYH 850 A.M. He built the station back in 1974, the first 'All News' radio station in Houston. I worked as transmitter operator at the station from 1978-1982. Back then, all critical-array stations needed to have a First Phone person on duty at all times the station was on the air.

He seemed to be a friendly and a very generous person. Mr Armstrong grew up in North East ,Texas one of the reasons he was such a nice person.

Artie in Columbus, Ohio...
