Local coverage of today's Boston incident

Just because of their signal strength, KFMB was the best.

KCBQ needs to go off the air. That station just contributes to global warming. I listen to Salem's Medved in the afternoon, but I happened to go out
for lunch and saw the Boston event on the TV in the deli I visited. KCBQ is so bad they have no news and they never covered it except for bottom and top of the hour
breaks. I would have never known this happened if I hadn't gone out to lunch. Mark Larson always replies to all emails but this time he can't defend how bad
his station is. No Arbitron ratings, no news, traffic reports recorded last week, it's amazing how they survive

KCBQ took a dive approximately 1½ - 2 years ago. Probably because of Heather Lloyd the current op manager. At KCBQ what they do is rotate the job amongst the current employees
every couple of years. One time its Judy Bowen, then Mark Larson, and now the totally clueless Lloyd.

More embarrassment from the Q today: They have been advertising an event to take place this Thursday called 'A day with the experts and KCBQ" or something like that. They'll have
all the Salem talkers in town, and all the financial / insurance guys. Unfortunately, they couldn't sell a single ticket although ticket prices are really cheap. So today Larson carved out the last 5 minutes
of all the syndicated Salem people on air throughout the day to invite people to the event for free!! EARTH TO LARSON--NOBODY IS LISTENING

And then Marty Schneider, their resident Wall Street guy said the stock market dropped hundreds of points on this Monday.

But what still takes the cake is when Junior Seau died, all day long, the Q's stupid, illiterate Metro News people pronounced Seau's last name "Say O"

The Friendly Candy Company should have a regulation that says incompetence and illiteracy cannot be on the air

yep. they need to change call sign..a total disgrace to those legendary call letters. too bad. snake oil station

IMHO if they wanted to get more than a .3 share (which is the current rating) they should go over to 50's and 60's oldies and do that. I'm sure that Gleason will disagree, but that station is aweful at this point. I was told that the station makes about 100k a month. There are used car dealers in National City making that much! Shoot there are coffee shops in Hillcrest making that much.

I don't get how or why anyone would waste ALOT of legendary top 40 signals and call letters on this crap talk! And how it is logical to them for a business model.

More embarrassment for KCBQ. As I have pointed out here, the Q does not have a news department. Basically, they record some newscast early in the morning and run it all day into the early afternoon. Wednesday afternoon at 1pm,, the clueless Alan Lee reports that there is an arrest in the Bostom Bombing case.
My God, one would think if they know a mistake is going to be broadcast, one would make an attempt to 'fix" the issue.

In my younger days in radio, I was told that if your transmitter was on you would get a 1 share in San Diego....Is KCBQ and KPRZ actually on??

KNX 1070 in LA had the best coverage. Come to think if it, I find them to be the only real news station in So Cal
