Local HD signals

I know it is useless to complain about HD radio, but some stations aren't properly working and tweaking them.

One example is KFNC. Their audio is not synchronized correctly. Also, until a couple of weeks ago, the analog signal was a lot louder than the HD radio.

Also, since yesterday. KHMX HD2 signal has stopped broadcasting and Today, Liquid Buzz also stopped in the morning. Too bad since I really enjoyed those two signals.

All of Radio One's stations HD signals sounds like old cassette audio.

Radio Disney HD (don't get me started) is also horrible.

KLTN's HD is also gone.

But there are some upsides. KPRC sounds incredible and KTRH in HD2 also sounds nice (too bad they are all about replubican conservative talk instead of real news).

Classical also lives in 88.7 HD2 or in HD1.

Texas Country is also really nice over at 92.9 HD2.

I dont think many stations are paying attention to HD Radio, KKMJ hardly goes out 30 miles in Austin. I havnt checked on my HD over in Houston in a while. I have my outdoor antenna going towards Victoria now, and a indoor antenna for Houston, but I kind of doupt the signal from the indoor antenna is strong enough to pull in the HD signal. I doupt I'll be getting a HD Radio for there anytime soon.

My guy told me there was some type of tower work or inspections or something going on and the HD signals aren't on the aux transmitter.

So is the Missouri City Senior tower offline? I noticed bad reception last weekend but that could of been the weather also.

No, it's not just you, it's been this whole week. All of the Missoury City signals were weak and all of the HD signals coming from the Senior tower were off for a while. I could not listen KILT yesterday afternoon while on the freeway off of 59 by downtown. They must be working on them.

Thanks for the confirm I thought it might of been my antenna...

KLTO is giving me problems with KBXX, I reported this to the FCC, I just think KLTO is way to close to KBXX, That shouldnt be that close. They need to config it for more to the west. I can get KBXX with my outdoor directional antenna but I have that going south now and another antenna inside to pick up Houston. I can get every other station but KBXX thanks to KLTO. ::)

Yeah, I've had those problems my self when riding towards vitoria. KLTO covers up KBXX like Syrup on Pancakes once you are in Victoria. Then you completely loose the signal in Goliad. Just wait until KLTO decides to turn on IBOC. ;D

Also noticed that Cox has turned on their HD-3 on 93Q and KHTC. KHTC is running the Weather Broadcast from 1630 AM (or somewhere up there in the AM). KKBQ seemed to be playing the Texas Country now on 92.9 HD-3.

My biggest wish for IBOC would be for them to cover all what analog covers, if that happens I will be able to get the HD signal with no drops at all. The nice thing about my HD Radio is that it has a great filter, and even in skips, at my home place near Austin I can recieve KBXX with KLTO as strong as it can get. IBOC may be more reliable down there than it is here. Cox hasnt done nothing to the HD stations in San antonio, they sound great, but none has split yet. Power 1067 has a 4-6 secound delay still in the IBOC signal. I would almost buy another radio for my place out at Lavaca county if they get cheaper, I need to take mine down there and see how it works with my indoor antenna.

Correction to myself, HD3 for 92.9 is now COuntry Legends 97.1 and Texas Country is still on HD2.

Something strange must be going on with my indoor antenna, I can pull in every 8 stations on the senior road tower but Sunny 99.1, that one is the only station I am having trouble with. Are they on Aux. power for some reason maybe? I just cant understand that.
