Local News Anchor Moonlighting?

I had someone ask me the other day if ABC15 news reader Katie Raml was working now as a real estate agent? She had heard that in Scottsdale.

Given Raml's often publicized skanky behavior you would guess she was into selling something else, but...
This from her official online station bio: "...and (recently) attained her real estate license to better understand a changing housing landscape."
What???? You mean you need an R.E. license to occasionally read a Valley housing market story from the prompter? I suppose an anchor has to get an RN or an MD before they read the next stupid health story on air.

Oh please! This justification is as ridiculous and phony as she is! Everyone knows her family has been in the Valley real estate business for years. She knows it inside and out. Why else would you get a license except to conduct business? THAT should lead to some real unbiased housing market stories on ABC15 in the future!

So what's next? An on-air crawl under her face during the ABC15 news: "Thinking of buying or selling? See Katie, the agent of the porn, sports, rap, and hip-hop pseudostars of the Valley!"

Given Raml's checkered history of partisan political campaigning, skanky bar cruising, and now using the station to apparently advertise her other business -- it seems pretty clear ABC15 lets this out-of-control anchor get away with murder.

Oh wait -- of course, I forgot. Didn't Edward R. Murrow also run an escort service while he was on the air?
 
Anyone else remember, jeez, it must have been three or four years ago now, when Elias was off and Raml was anchoring the 6 PM news solo, something went wrong with the teleprompter or a video package, and right at a commercial break, she just disappeared? First commercial break, and Raml never came back after being visibly upset by the technical errors, which left a confused and apparently dismayed Bill Bellis to do roughly 20 minutes of weather before she returned at the very end of the newscast? I was convinced she was done after that, yet here we are, years later, and she's the "face of the station" in oh so many ways--some of which I'm sure Scripps doesn't want her to be.

Didn't catch that one but it sounds like Raml. High-strung, petulant, raging ego. Hey, she should try being a TV news anchor when she grows up! :)

My favorite Raml story is still the on-air interviews she did when they sent her out to cover the So CA fires (for whatever reason). She was wearing that big bandana across her face like she was ready to hold up the stagecoach out of Yuma. You could barely hear her. LOL! The fireman and other folks she was interviewing looked at her like she was crazy!

Maybe the reason she had a bandanna across her face is because she forgot to put her makeup on!... ;)
 
I talked to her in person about the RE license the other day. She said she got it to better report on real estate.. but she's also getting prepared in case she decides to leave TV.
 
And now Katie is trying to rent out her furnished two bedroom condo in McCormick Ranch. Some pictures and a great description of the condo and surrounding area but no mention of price on her Facebook page.

Hey, maybe Raml will also start hawking her own line of cosmetics on the websites. "...and discreetly delivered to your door by an 18-wheeler semi."

Wonder if that means 15 has told her she has to choose between her career and her nightlife?
