Local Radio's Activity During PSU Riots - Or Lack Thereof

Here's a spot-on account of how radio failed during the Penn State campus riots following the ouster of coach Joe Paterno amid child rape allegations.
 
Yes, the posting about what was going on is correct. The whole issue about the purpose of radio in the internet age (and for that matter, television in the Netflix age) is wider than one single set of incidents. Radio has lost (or abandoned) the one and only advantage it had over other media, immediacy.

As an aside, anyone who calls what happened in town last night a "riot" has never been in or seen a riot.
