Local Reporters listed as "on the beach"

TVJobs.com is reporting (07/19) that KNXV reporter Eric English and KPHO reporter Elizabeth Irwin are "on the beach". No additional information was provided by TVJobs.com

Sorry, that should be Elizabeth Erwin (just copied it like TVJobs.com had it listed). Elizabeth has posted both on her Facebook and Twitter accounts that she is leaving KPHO to join another station in Phoenix (she just cannot say which station right now).

Christine LaCroix gone aswell, she's picking Law over Journalism! Studying for her Bar Exam.

I wonder if she is gone permanently or just off while studying for the bar. According to her 3TV bio, she moved to Phoenix to attend law school in 2009 and had already graduated by the time she took job at 3TV in June 2012.
Anyway, there seems to be more lawyers trying to get into broadcasting than broadcasters going into law.

Eric English...not on the beach

TVJobs.com is reporting today (07/22) that Eric English was reinstated with KNXV (ABC15).

(I've seen a number of these "on the beach" on day and reinstated the next. Don't know where the communication breakdown is that would have TVJobs say they are gone when they are not.)

I don't think it was a communication breakdown. ABC15 lists the anchor/reporter bios alphabetically on their website. Eric English is tucked down at the bottom of the roster today instead of up in the "E"s. I think they didn't come to an agreement before the contract expired and pulled the plug. Somebody figured out how to save it and he's back.

As long as she doesn't go to 3 or 12 I will be sure and watch her. I did notice her sitting next to Troy Hayden alot during the Arias trial. I congratulate her on leaving the waste pit know as Channel 5.

TVJobs.com reporting that Elizabeth Erwin is joining KNXV.

They are also confirming that Marie Saavedra is departing KTVK to join WFAA in Dallas (both currently Belo stations).

Has ABC15 received a ratings bump now that World News has finally beat Nightly News?

They probably lost more viewers due to "The List" lead-in than gained from ABC's resurgence.

Sadly, since Gannett owns the Republic, we don't ever hear about ratings (unless 12 News is #1).

And we all know that 12 News has seen better days...

Yes, they jumped the shark the day Ray Thompson left for Channel 3 back in 1977 or '78. ;D

And who the heck could ever forget Dewey Hopper??? :D

I spent a summer here at ASU 30 years ago...and I always remembered Dewey Hopper! I also remember Linda Alvarez and the "Hello Phoenix/Arizona" theme music (because it was the same as Channel 12 in Providence with "Hello Rhode Island").
