Local Show in Albany NY

Clear Channel's Albany station is dumping FOX afternoon drive for a local show. This goes against CC's regular operation procedure and confirms that FoxSports Radio is a complete train wreck.

Albany’s market is primarily minor league, local college, and NYC-Boston-Buffalo pro fans. It will be interesting to see if a local show can do well enough to satisfy CC and prevent them from returning to the presently scheduled drivel.

In San Antonio, Ashwood's old stomping grounds, there are two local shows to pre-empt FSR programs. In the morning, the listeners are spared by hearing only one hour of the 'Morning Fiasco' and in the afternoon, part of the 'Drive' is taken off by more local sports programming. It's one thing when a non-CC station drops FSR, but when a CC affiliate bails on them, what does that say?

So when ESPN Radio 710 in Los Angeles runs a local show in afternoon drive, does that mean that they are a train wreck? What about when KMPC 1540 in Los Angeles takes Arnie Spanier off for the entire show to do a local show? Are they a train wreck? WOFX obviously wanted to keep Chris Myers on the air if they kept the last two hours of the program.

No, this means that Mike and the Mad Dog are getting good ratings on 590, and as a result the local FSR station has to do something called "respond to the competition."

...becaue the current show is almost as bad as when CJ was there. Ugh!

It's too bad that the 'NewsTalk Leader' has to run a sports program that can be heard in the same market on the flagship! (Sorry Mod! I'll refer any furhter comment back to the HV board)
