Local stations want "streaming loophole" closed

Radio helps most when a hurricane is approaching and after it has passed by. We know, with increasing precision as each hour goes by, where and how powerfully a storm will hit. By the time winds start to be felt, we should have... days in advance... evacuated or strengthened out dwelling.
In the case of this storm, the forecast was remarkably accurate. The predicted landfall (the "center of the cone") when the storm was forming near the Isle of Youth was off by only around 20 miles.

The internet is the first thing to go in a massive storm, be it cell towers or wifi.

Jim Cantore reporting from the eye of a hurricane serves no other purpose than entertainment.
Guess how Mr. Cantore's reports are relayed back to headquarters?

Yup. Cell service.

I remember when 4 YouTubeTV subs suing Disney over their leverage of both ESPN and Hulu when it comes to vMVPDs rasing prices going back as the previous late 2021 dispute, now my traditional provider Charter dropped Disney's own networks recently. The same battles now flowed to streaming providers too if not counting FAST channels of the stations which do not carry local ads even outside the viewing area. Do u think Big Tech's financial weight has caused the chaos in streaming or the raising sub prices are now nearly close as cable and sattelite prices even with or without broadband.
