Well, I was on the fence about getting satellite radio. But now, I'm safely on the other side...and so is my money.
I think many people are waiting for this merger to go through before switching over to satellite radio. I am sickened by 'terrestrial radio' because they are more advertising-driven than ever. I want to PUKE when I hear something on 'BZ like, "Here's the New England Subaru Dealers Traffic report, brought to you by Purina Cat Chow." (So, is this for CATS THAT ARE IN THE MARKET FOR A NEW CAR? A CatMobile perhaps???). This doubling-up of advertising is part of an endless avalanche of commercials that has turned me completely off of WBZ.
Anyway, that whole 'advertising thing' has prompted me to look at satellite. But my commute is only a half-hour, which I feel isn't a long enough commute to warrant a monthly subscription to a service. A one-hour drive each way, I'd probably have satellite radio by now.
So who wins? My iPod and downloaded free Podcasts. I'll be DAMNED

if I'm going to listen to Gil Santos extol the virtues of Purina Cat Chow for a solid minute (no exaggeration). Their selfishness in grabbing every advertising dollar (ever heard the spots for the frigging PET CEMETARY???

) they can get their mitts on has turned me and thousands of other drivers OFF.
