Local Talk Host Blames Dead Woman For Being Raped

A local morning AM talkmeister blamed the murder of the Boston native in New York City on her activity - namely going into a New York City nightspot alone.
Basically, he said she was asking for it.

Apparently he has been taken to task by The Boston Herald for his on air remarks and without naming him has been attacked for his stupidity by Jim Braude and Michael Graham on their individual talk shows.

It was John DePetro at WRKO. WJAR Channel 10 in Providence also aired a story about Mr. DePetro's insensitive comments.

John Carmen / John Wendell / Johnny Angel would be a much better choice.

A)Carmen gets lots of practice on L.A. radio

B)Johnny C.W.A. is from Boston

As long as we don't have to hear that he was a local rock star every
5 minutes (yes, we played on the same bill, 12/2/78 in Paradise - boy,
we is old!) he does a good job.

My vote is for Johnny over Rhode Island John

... do you think this bit of outrage was encouraged by Jason Wolfe, since he's in charge of WRKO now, isn't he? He's perfected the good cop/bad cop on WEEI... I wonder if DePetro will get the same treatement as Dennis and Callahan for the METCO gorilla comment. (PS.. I don't listen to DePetro so I'm going by what you people are saying)

I don't know, I am a Christian and an American, and no where in the core values that I learned does it say that I can rape and strangle a woman to death because it's supposedly 5 AM. Nor does should she be blamed, and if anyone is to blame, it's the person who actually did the raping and strangling. But maybe the guys who think the woman is responsible have other values.
