Local Talk Shows

So are there any good local talk shows out there on local Alabama radio AM or FM? I am not talking about the Rick and Bubba's, Russ and Dee's, Paul Finebaum's and people like that. I am talking about the local morning guys or afternoon talkers. Any people worth tuning in to? It seems to me most "local" people try to sound national. Who has talent out there?

WVNN-Huntsville's Will Anderson is pretty good, IMO. And WYDE's Matt Murphy has his moments.

Don't know about Montgomery, Mobile, or Tuscaloosa.

Murphy does indeed have his moments. Dixon and Willoughby on 1070AM in Bham are off the beaten path and enjoyable. Their show isn't the same old politics and crap you can hear on other 'news talk' shows.

Bill Cameron does a really good job on WAUD in Auburn. It was better with Andy Burcham as they had better chemistry, but alas Andy has left for greener pastures.

I'll cast my vote for Greg Budell's show on WACV-AM 1170 in Montgomery. It's a show about "nothing", but the subjects usually have to do with relationships (male/female/exes/children), education, stupid celebrities and the stupid things they do, and local politics/crime/happenings.

It makes for a nice drive home, and he uses sound effects before, during, and after callers. Montgomery hasn't had anything like him since Mark Thompson was on Y102.

Anniston's WHMA-AM 1390 has a pretty decent guy doing mornings. "The Chambers Show" He pretty much does it all. Local, state, national, entertainment… He can be pretty entertaining, but at times he just nails issues into the ground. It makes for an entertaining I-20 drive between the markets of Birmingham and Atlanta.
