I was not commenting on engineering rules. Or how the largest of the broadcasters attempt to skirt around or re-write ownership caps. I was simply commenting on my belief that we do not need to be begging the commission to become more deeply involved. I will agree with you on this- (BTW I am watching C-SPAN right now,,,todays recorded Commissioners Meeting regarding allowing further consolidation and cross ownership of broadcast and newspapers), here is what I agree with: Diversity in news gathering. I personally witnessed Channel 6 get the story wrong. They broadcast the wrong story at 5p.m. & 6p.m., they corrected their error at 11. Of course they did not make an on air apology or make reference to their earlier mistake, so in that respect I will agree with you. I am not opposed to the commission setting stronger guidelines to diversity of news gathering. My station is Uber compliant in this field. I have since revised my views after witnessing channel 6's mistake so bear with me. I would hate to think that Channel 6 could merge with the Tribune-Democrat, the Altoona Mirror, and the CDT plus provide the news content for Channel 8 & 23 and then get the story wrong. So in that respect you and I are on the same page.
