Since there is no TV board for Orlando or Florida, I'm starting this thread here.
This past Saturday night (July 13th), just before 10 P.M. EDT, a verdict was announced in the trial of George Zimmerman.
I do know that several Orlando TV stations broadcast gavel-to-gavel coverage of the trial (as did HLN nationally), but can I assume that they remained on the air all night, and perhaps well into the day Sunday, with many hours of nonstop coverage of reactions to the verdict??
I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Orlando TV stations continued nonstop coverage until the time their early-evening newscasts on Sunday went on the air. Given that it was the biggest news story in the history of the Orlando area, I suspect there may have been about twenty hours of continuous coverage Saturday night and Sunday and that such coverage was warranted.
