LockJock on KJR - Dec 1981

The absolute best. Gary could be a difficult guy but, IMO, he could back it up because he was GOOD. He and BR Bradbury and Debbie Duetsch was some of the truly funniest radio I've ever heard. More of this, please!

Did LJ first 'start' on Seattle radio at big eleven KING-AM in the mid-late 70's?

- then to KJR in 1980? - and then to KZOK mornings in, what? - 1992 thru 1994?

Came to NW from Michigan ... but was at KING before KJR. KING saw fit to "discourage" Lockwood and Phil Harper ... two of the best talents this market has ever seen so they could hire more "liner" people who were better at following "direction".

Funny how KING-AM ended up with one of the wildest (and best IMO) talents to hit the PNW airwaves - Andy Barber. I loved the days of the KJR-KING battles ... terrific radio. I'm thinking it was truly a golden age -

Good to see Andy is still knockin' out the hits. And we share one thing in common - I had my picture in 16 Magazine as well, back in the day. At the time it was a cool thing. If I told my kid about it now, he'd say "huh?" I still have a few copies laying around.

Andeeeeeeeeeeeee Barber!

The guy rocked ...
