On Wednesday morning I was checking out 980 on my CC-2E and heard an ID of "La FQ" pop up over XENR (commonly heard here) at 6:30 CT. This was followed by a song I later IDed as "Y Así Fue" by Julión Álvarez. The station was XEFQ @ 704 miles in Cananea, Sonora.
On Thanksgiving night while driving home around 21:30 CT, I tuned the car radio to 1390 and heard an unfamiliar Spanish-language station with female DJ talk and a song, so I hit record on my phone. The station had a fairly decent signal, but halfway into the song I started to get terrible bleed from my local nemesis KCOR (on 1350) when I had to pass near its tower. The recording revealed the female DJ announcing a 91.5 MHz / 1390 kHz "La Ola" ID with a reference to Tuxpan, Veracruz. She then introduced "Solo Se Vive Una Vez" by Mónica Naranjo, which followed. This was XETL @ 596 miles.
Really enjoying the great wintertime propagation.
