Not the Weather Channel's new logo, but the station with all the gays.

Am I the only one surprised their hasn't been any outrage from the Religious Right? The channel premiered without all the hooplah I expected.

But you would think that the countless "Pay for Pray" guys that infest the DirecTV lineup would have threatened News Corp with boycots.

Maybe every ones lightening up a little. That would be refreshing.

Viacom too, since they own the channel.

Surprised at the lack of outrage? Yes and No.

I am sure many of these folks already know about LOGO. After all there are many of these watchdog groups that monitor how much "gay" is on TV or the radio.

But then again LOGO I believe had a rather low-key premier so maybe it may be a little early here as far as the "outrage" goes.

As far as a boycott against News Corp goes, I am sure many of these people know that for the most part boycotts don't work and odds are having one against News Crop or Viacom, chances are won't work either. Just like the Disney/Southern Baptist boycott.

Heck, even on the local level too, boycotts don't usually work. In my wife's hometown, the local sports/news station, nude pics of one of their male employees is rumored to be featured in a gay magazine sometime later this year. Some religious couple a few months back tried to start a boycott against the station because of this. Looking at the flyer my mother-in-law recieved ( on her car at a shopping center )featuring the names of all the churches who buy time on the station , I wonder how they found out? Of course the station didn't promote this and I doubt the magazine in question did either.

This was last April. Now it's August and so far none of the churches ( including 2 Southern Baptist churches )have dropped their shows from the station. And according to my mother-in-law, the flyers have long since stopped
and nothing more was heard from this couple. Another boycott bites the dust.

What makes ME mad about the launch of LOGO by MTV Networks is that on digital cable, VH1 took VH1 Mega Hits off the air on July 1 to make room for that LOGO channel!!

They've taken away YET ANOTHER GOOD Rock video channel from us on digital cable, in order to replace it with a channel for Gays & Lesbians??

That SUCKS!! :(

Why is it that the Rock video channels get taken off the air by MTV & VH1, and replaced with other channels?

This isn't the first time MTV Networks has pulled this stunt, either!

Back in 2002, MTV networks pulled MTV X (another Rock video digital channel) from their lineup and replaced it with a 2nd Hip-Hop music video channel known as MTV Jams!! :(

What?? ONE Hip-Hop channel wasn't enough?? They ALREADY had VH1 Soul for Hip-Hop music!! Then they added a 2nd one called MTV Jams!! :(

IMHO, that is PISS POOR!!

How can they take away channels geared towards us Rock fans, and replace them with MORE Hip-Hop channels??

Then they take VH1 Mega Hits off the air to launch LOGO??

Yes. I DO believe that the Gay & Lesbian community should be represented!!

But WHY should we lose a GOOD Rock video channel in order to accomodate for them???

Hey guys good points! I know boycotts don't work (heck, they are great publicity stunts) but that never stopped the religious nuts before. I think your right, LOGO premiered without much hype, so it went under the radar.

I love Rock more than anybody, but the reason your loosing rock video channels and radio stations is because Rock is dead, a fringe genre like jazz or blues.

Degenerate culture has taken over the music charts. Sorry for the truth.
