They are almost playing more white music than black, yet they are still calling themselves "Jammin 99". This station just keeps getting worse. I had no idea Joe Cocker's "You're so beautiful" was such a "jammin" hit.

Stop being stupid and just call yourselves "classic top 40" like you use to.

They might make history by posting the first negative number in arbitron history. Maybe thats what they are shooting for.
 
Why a talk station? Their "old" format wasnt that bad. They played some decent 70s music that you never hear on the radio anymore.
 
I liked what they were doing back in 05-06 with the Classic Top 40....Its simple guys...The station is not given enough attention...Its all about Dog and Power..

I agree with you Allen. Honestly even though I work there, I am out of the loop as to what's going on. No one has told me anything. And I think I have been demoted on the websites too..
 
What's up with the changes to the websites? They used to look really nice, now they...well, don't.

Yep, well it isn't my handi work that's for sure. I tried to keep things looking good and up-to-date.
 
Well we are streaming finally! And as I type this I'm listening to it and it doesn't sound bad at all. I can also listen to the air as well and there is about 20-30 seconds delay. I hear the air first, then the stream. The processing is good (to my ears and computer speakers). I just wished we would used an Orban rather than a Berhinger, but it doesn't sound all that bad. I'd love to have been able to see how all this was set up and have been a part of it because it is something that I have told management we needed to do for a while. And then a highway was built over them--and named after them--as they continued to stand there stubbornly.
 
This station has the most bizarre format Ive ever heard. It makes zero sense. They played Bruce Springsteen and John Mellencamp mixed in with 10 r&b soul songs. Its almost like listening to Foxy 104.3 and hearing Led Zeppelin mixed in. Please, go back to the "classic top 40" format you had before at least. Or even the original "mix 99.7" format. It was a million times better than this.
 
And to tell you the truth, WZAX's format under the classic top 40 monikor was somewhat unique. I cant even think of a station that has ever had a format quite like ZAX had. Mostly music from the 70s to very early 80s but it was songs you never hear on the radio anymore. And good songs too. They didnt play much disco either which was great.

If I had to pick a format for it I would go with a Jack FM type format. Its the hottest format today and its basically giving the middle finger to clear channel type stations, lol. Hell the classic top 40 ZAX was an anti-clear channel type deal as well.

And yeah, the current format is VERY unique because its the most bizarre thing Ive ever heard!!
