Lonestar 1150 AM Corpus Christi

The station is sounding pretty good. I've heard some songs I haven't heard in a long long time. The only complaint I have is that occasionally, about once an hour, they will go off on a "Texas country" tangent. You'll hear John Conlee, Merle Haggard, Dolly Parton, Glen Campbell.....and then all of a sudden, they'll follow it up with Roger Creager and then a Cross Canadian Ragweed and then a Cory Morrow.

Don't get me wrong, I love Texas Country. "Badlands 94.7" is my favorite station in CC. I just don't know why Lonestar 1150 bills itself as "Classic Country" when they spend about 25 % of the time playing Red Dirt and Texas Country ???

I agree that Lonestar 1150 sounds good. A few more 80s/90s tracks than when the programming was weekend only I believe. Hopefully the advertising community will step up and support this station.

Checked out this station for the first time in months and yes it is still kickin' It is still Lonestar 1150 but the current motto is Texans, Outlaws, and Legends. The station now has a less polished imaging voice, which sounds like it might be local and is quite barebones. Still some classic country but more modern Texas country I think. No ad load to speak of when I listened. It is just a matter of time before 1150 switches back to some version of talk or maybe "Jalapeno oldies" again!

Is their music on a loop? I seem to be hearing the same songs over and over.

If they continue to play too much so-called 'Texas music' they will be gone in a year or less. This format does not sell ad schedules.
