Long Distance Radio Pros Take Note!

This morning, about 4:30am, around Coventry RI, I picked up a station on 1070am, call letters given were WCBC. News was on, and they were covering Canadian News. I checked on the FCC website and the only WCBC I found is licensed in MD to 1270am. Anyone have any idea what I heard, and if it's a spectacular leap to RI?

You had CBA-1070 Moncton New Brunswick. They're 50 kW non directional and were a nighttime regular in RI. They ID as CBC Radio One If I'm not mistaken...

The station is CBA/1070 Moncton, New Brunswick. It is the primary Maritime CBC station running CBC's RadioOne Service (formerly known as CBC English Mono Service). They run 50,000 watts full-time and does a splendid job in covering most of the northeast including most of New England. CBC is Canada's Public Broadcaster. It's a good catch and is probably one of the strongest of all of the CBC stations heard this side of the border. Congrats!

I'll get that station on occasion here in New Britain, CT...if I move my AM antenna to reduce next-door interference from WTIC-AM 1080 of Hartford.

I heard them coming up Route 95 from RI to MA last week.

Do they broadcast in AM stereo? The AM stereo indicator on my mid-80's Sony XR-A33 car tuner was coming on at times, but sometimes certain heterodynes falsely trigger it...
