long time broadcaster to retire

What's this I hear about a longtime Altoona broadcaster hanging it up at year's end? I understand that this has been a long time in the works.

Just in...it's official...the man is retiring in May. Details should be availble soon or why not call and ask him.

Word is that the broadcast shingle will be taken down in the Spring. I just hope that if it's who I've been told is retiring, that it will not mean the end of the hilarious entertainment reports on wtaj. I just about wet myself every Friday.

Is that the Steve Willett? Where the hell have you been? and where are you now?
Someone once told me they thought he became part of the group The Traveling Willettbees.

There's a name from the past, Debbie Hoy. I always thought she became Polly Wogg, but then someone told me Polly Wogg was actually the heavy set Billie Starr from WFBG way back when. I remember Billie weighing down the back of a Jeep CJ in a Hollidaysburg parade. Instead of throwing candy she was making the children cry watching her eat candy through the whole parade route.

You certainly have a good memory Satelite Man. That was one of the wackiest radio promotions in the world. It seems the only money invested was in the straw/hay. It was better quality straw/hay that what they used to use on Country Music Jubilee with Dougie Potter and his insane crew.
