Long-time WWJ-AM host Joe Donovan Retires

Long-time WWJ-AM (950) host Joe Donovan 12/14/2012 retired from the station’s morning show after 37 years. Joe was one of the good guys and had a good run in the Motor City from CKLW 20/20 News to WWJ. Wishing Joe and Rita the best as they start the next chapter of their life.
 
This is really the end of an era. Joe and I go back to 1971 at CKLW, then later, together again at WWJ. He is arguably the most professional, most competent person I have ever run across in the business. I'd hate to be the one to "replace" him. It's impossible to look good following that act.
