Longwave NDB Transmitter Sites + antenna question

I was inspired by N6NKS' online NDB gallery. ( http://www.auroralchorus.com/ndb/ndbgllry.htm )


I decided to stop by some local sites myself. Nothing mindblowing obviously.

Since i'm not techy, I was wondering if someone could explain the advantage/disadvantage to a monopole/tophat versus a wire T aerial setup for this application?
 
ok but as far as performance in application, there isnt a real difference?
