Look who started abiding by FCC rules

I think the end of the link's address gives it away. Does it involve a town between Hartford and Waterbury along I-84? ;)

Yes... 1120 is next! That'll be a tougher nut to crack.

I wonder how well WDJZ in BPT is doing, these days? Around the 1990's, they were violating their daytime-only license for SEVERAL YEARS. They'd behave for a year or so, then go back to violation mode... I stopped checking on them about 5 years ago, so I have no idea what they're up to, anymore.

It's one of our frequent Connecticut board poster's favorite stations!

They're doing good, thank you. :)

At sunset they drop to PSA low power. 45 minutes later they're off. And not by a momentary contact to the "PA OFF" but a solid contact that releases many hours later. They cannot return to the air via remote control.

If this is the case, and by Ron's graph it appears to be the case, this is great news for me.

Is that the one Labarca is on now?

Excellent!

Back when they were fudging with things, it was quite unsettling to observe them drop power, then moments later, come right back up... go off the air, then come right back up again... only to sign-off when they felt like it, or in some instances, even leave the transmitter on all night! (They also used to sign-on at 6am all winter, at full power.)

I'm glad to see that you've successfully stopped them from playing those games. :) Kudos!

In the 90s I once heard them say that they had special dispensation from god to stay on as long as they pleased.

Ummm... yeah, even an atheist will say "wouldn't your god want you to abide by the law?"

I mean its not like its an illegal unjust law or anything.

Yep that graph is correct, its a relative field strength, its not calibrated in any way, but it is in dbuV or something standard, so you can take the "units" and figure a db drop, as received here... looks relatively right.

Its neat, you can see the increase in noise in the early morning during greyline, and various propagation burps.
