Looking back at 25 years of KETK/56

Yes, the station's anniversary was in March, but recently a 4-part series about it was posted on the station's website. They show the original studio building in Jacksonville, damage from the tornado that hit them in November 1987, interviews with past anchors Leslie Roberts and Jim Knox, and a look at a couple of old newscast opens. Would have been good to look back at major news stories that Ch.56 covered over the years, but they didn't do anything there except the tornado. Plus there's a bit of behind-the-scenes at the current studio/station building.

Someone should do a history on KFXK which started out as CBS affiliate KLMG. It's a long strange story.

Sadly through many many owners and groups all of the archives and history of KLMG/KFXK are completely gone. But you are right that the history of KLMG was wrought with horror, thanks to Clara McGloughlin

Ill say this that working at White Knight KFXK was very unique, but I worked for the greatest boss I ever worked, and it was at KFXK and miss that time a great deal.

Clara McLaughlin, first black woman to own a television station the U.S.

She had plans for a network of stations in East Texas, which didn't come close to happening. But considering the fact that KLMG was a CBS affiliate from the beginning the station should have been a success.
