I find it somewhat interesting that the number #1 rated local TV news organization in Rochester has so many job openings. Unless their web site is outdated and these jobs have already been filled.
 
That does seem like quite a few openings.

Unless they're all for that 10pm broadcast I haven't seen yet.

Still not sure how that's supposed to work.

Holy Toledo! However a morning news reporter and producer does not indicate to me that Channel 13 is looking into a 10 p.m., newscast on CW, at least at this time. But I too wonder why so many job openings, and if it has anything to do with the recent sale of Clear Channel and the decision by the new owners to sell off some of their broadcasting properties? (Athough I haven't read that the Rochester operations were up for sale)
 
Usually the last thing to occur when a place goes up for sale is to fill job openings. They might have and advertise the openings, but that doesn't mean they'll fill them right away.
Just what this business doesn't need: another 10PM show to suck resources from the core product. Why not invest in more people to rev up the websites? That's the future. One more TV news program on a network which people watch to AVOID local TV news. Yea yea, all the ad time is yours to sell, sure. IF people watch it.

Exactly. Until recently I was a desk assistant working on a news website and I absolutely loved it! I wish my station offered a full-time web producer position.
