Looking for a old Duane Eddy collaboration record, from 1970's

Hi all,Ok guys and gals, please start digging in those archives. I'm looking for a 45rpm record of Duane Eddy collaboration with Waylon/Willie/Jessie and freinds from 1977,singing You Are My Sunshine on Elektra E-45359 .I have old airchecks from 1050 WHN New York I recorded at the time the song was released. Thanks to DJ Jessie with the great intro with all the info.personally I think it was the best version of that song I ever heard. Last night I did some research online to about 2am in the morning and finding some info on this record.Where can I get a copy of this song, what album this song came of ,or is it a single only. I will even take a clean mp3 copy of it.I like to put the 30 year search party to sleep here now. Heres some info I found so far.

You Are My Sunshine – Debut 05/07/77, Peaked at #69 Country (with “Waylon Jennings”, “Willie Nelson” and “Kin Vassy”)

Elektra E-45359 You Are My Sunshine(W/Deed & Friends)/From 8 To 7 1977 "info from www.celebrityrockstarguitars.com"

Hum I was pretty shock at the charts ratings, 69 on the country chart. this song did bad at the time.It should went to number 1.

PM me with the info or share it here. Thanks an advance.

It was a single only, and did much better than #69 at WHN (since we didn't play that many currents:)).
I probably have it in my basement. I'll look this weekend.
A lot of songs we played were only WHN hits. Playing music for the NY market, reseraching what we played with our listeners, and disregarding the national charts was one of the reasons we suceeded with Country in NY.
Thanks for listening.

WHN PD 1975-1981

Thanks Ed, Not to drift off topic.I still miss WHN today, I think WHN was the best formatted country station around,Today country radio play all currents and play a couple of oldies up to 5 to 8 years old only, a day, especially here in Connecticut. Thanks Ed for the great job entertaining me all those years, and thanks to my cassette tape collection of WHN airchecks to keep me entertained over and over again with the best collection of DJ's on the air. ok back to Duane Eddy, yeah 69 chart rating. It should went down to the top ten.Hum I wonder why the song had no or a little airplay anywhere else , especially with Waylon, Willie and Jessi, Those guys were like Alan Jackson,Tim McGraw,Carrie Underwood star status at the time. And yes I remember You Are My Sunshine was played alot WHN.thank goodness. An other song that played alot on WHN and was played alittle on my local station 104.1 "WIOF" was Silverbird by Tina Rainford from Germany.I have that 45rpm record.Ok thanks again, good luck looking.

WPPC,

I did find a few Duane Eddy songs..but I don't have this one.

I'm adding in a lot of "lost" classic country songs to my station, which will undergo a
relaunch of sorts in August with an expanded website, larger playlist and such.

If anyone finds this I would be glad to play it!

Alan

hi!
Just found this site/BB, been looking for that recording since (as was mentioned) it was played on WHN back in my High School days...

Who must I bribe, threaten :) beg to get a copy!?

1050, as you folks probably know, is the local ESPN station, and carries the NY Rangers, and just as in days of old, you STILL can't get reception here, ( Union/Middlesex/etc. counties, NJ), at night...(still won't root for the Devils, though)!

Instead of me stating a new topic thread on this ,I just dredge this out of the archives,Do to copyright and rules of this forum I cannot post this song on here,PM me if any interest of geting a copy.

Saw your post about the Duane Eddy, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Kin Vassey "You are My Sunshine". I downloaded this somewhere years ago but the cd was ruined. I tried to pm you about this but couldn't get the pm to work. If you can help please let me know what I need to do. -- Jennifer
