Yea, those Jones/Dial-Global receivers have been very problematic to say the least. To start with, the rack ears won't hold it up, I've had the hard drives crash in several of them, power supply fail in two of them. Also if you can't get the receiver to talk to them (which is often a problem with the receiver) they won't authorize it. They NEVER send them authorized either. Apparently if you use a static IP through the LAN port, the WAN port must be set to DHCP (they can't tell me why). If not, then it won't communicate back to them. Took them months to figure that out, all the while saying it was my problem.
Although the normal audio is fantastic, when they play spots back from the receiver, they sound like crap. The files on the receiver are 256k mp2 files, but I think before they send them to the receivers, they are cutting them down to 8 bit. They won't admit any of this either.
And if you are on any of their 24/7 formats, they had a big staff downsizing recently, and most of their formats are completely tracked. The few that are live sometimes, only have a few hours here and there live. Isn't the reason we go satellite to have a live jock there?
