Become a subscriber to mediabase and see what most stations are playing and put together a playlist based on the best of the best. Your playlist should be about 150 -225 songs focused mainly on the hits and the very best of gold.
I always recommend that programmers/music directors find out what the top stations are playing and stick with that. No need to re-invent the wheel. Play what listeners want to hear as opposed to what you like as an individual. I've seen more than one station fail because the person responsible for a station's playlist wanted to play what he like.
