Looking for info on Announcer Pete Pickins

Pete Pickins was a veteran announcer in North Carolina in the 1950s and possibly in the 1960s. His real name was Alfred Moton Poteat. Pickins was his radio name. He worked at WKIC in Hazard, Kentucky in the late 1950s before retruning to North Carolina. He was a native of Asheville. He died in September 1964 in N.C. I'm looking for anyone that knew him or knows his family. We'd like to preserve his contribution to radio through pictures and audio.
