Looking for Music

I found this story in the Toledo Blade. It was interesting to me as I've been converting over all my records to digital, referencing them to Whitburn charts as I go, and then disposing of the vinyl to save space

At one time Toledo had "Seligman Brothers" on Sylvania Ave, which was where I spent my allowance and paychecks in buying records. BTW, in the late 60s I could get three 45s for a buck. ;D

Sadly, the brothers passed away in the 80s, and the new owner moved the store down the road into the former Johnny's Pet Store, and then went out of business. I had thought that Toledo was without a record store until seeing this article in today's (Sunday, August 26, 2007) Toledo Blade ...

Perhaps some of you other guys know of some places in your town that are still around. I know there is Ebay, newsgroups, and some traders/dealers, but sometimes to find the real charted hit for your collection you have to find an authentic old time record store.

BTW, one of my best memories of Seligmans was that they always had the surveys from the following stations under glass; WLS-Chicago, WCFL-Chicago, WJJD-Chicago (sometimes), WKNR-Detroit, CKLW-Windsor/Detroit, WTTO-Toledo, WTOD-Toledo, and WOHO-Toledo. (Sure wish I would have kept all the surveys I collected).
