Looking for old friends from Hot Hits WFEC from the early 80s

I use to do the nighttime show at Hot Hits! WFEC in the early 80s under the name Lou Alexander. I met some great people there but we all lost touch over the years. If anyone knows the whereabouts of: Mark Davis, Don Rooney, Robert Walker, Joe Wambaugh, Dr. Dee, Chris Logan, The Wild Child (Mitch Zatto), Jay Michael MacKay or Susan Marie the copywriter please let me know where to find them. Or they can email me [email protected]

Thank you for your help

Don Rooney was doing weather on WHP TV for some time, he's not there anymore. I don't know if he's still kicking around Harrisburg or not.. He's a good guy.

Hey thank you for the reply... And I agree Don is a good guy!

Don Rooney works for the Senate Democratic News Service in Harrisburg. We use his reports all the time...

Was Brian Murphy working there at the same time you were on staff? He's working at B101 in Philly and has a voice over business as well. I could only get Fire 14 on the car radio when I got to the intersection of I78 and I81 near Fredericksburg. What a great station!

check out wyno.radio.com as there are some airchecks of wfec and jingles music beds etc from the hot hits days of fire 14.

I worked part-time at FIRE 14 in 1983-84...Mark Davis was doing morning, Brian Murphy (As Kelly O'Brien) was doing mid-days....Can't remember who did afternoons & evenings, but my friend Joe Ricci did overnights...he then went to WTPA as "G.I. Joe Ricci"....

I still hate "King of Pain" by the Police to this day...it was #1 when I was there and we had to play it every hour....

I also remember doing an early Sunday morning gig and falling asleep in the production room while the "God Squad" tape was rolling....we had dead air for 45 minutes....no phone calls :) Those were the days :)

Thanks for the reply. You must have started just after I left. Kelly replaced me on nights when I left.
Do you know what ever became of Mark (Levy) Davis?
Did you work with Susan the copy writer? I would love to see if she ever became a novelist.

And how about those Scott Brothers?

Thanks for dropping some memorable names.

What ever happened to Joe? I worked with him at WCMB/WSFM in the early-80s, I believe...I was there so long that I can't remember what year for sure. Plus, the turnover at that operation was incredible back then. Joe was a good guy, and I have fond memories of working with him. He's one of those people that I'd love to catch up with again.

I don't remember Susan the copy girl...I did all weekends and never had occasion to come in during the day...all my other fill-in gigs were either nights or overnights....I still have some of my airchecks from that station...

Don't know what ever happened to Mark Davis....I heard that after WFEC he ended up at a station in Gainesville, FL, but can't remember the calls....

Joe Ricci and I worked at WQVE (QV93) back in the early 80's...he was doing overnights there and I was part-time...he was in the midst of some personal issues at the time, but I believe had them resolved by the time he got to WTPA. I'd like to find out what happened to him as well...haven't spoken to him in over 20 years....so if anyone knows his whereabouts, let us know!!

R.J. Heim aka Robert Walker was doing TV weather in Providence RI as of last year, at least. We were on vacation in New England, driving through Providence and there he was on a billboard smiling at us. I said, "Hey, I know that guy..." Do a search on reelradio.com for the R.J. Heim collection for a synopsis of where-all he's been.

Thank's for the info.

Louie
