Hi all,

I have no clue if it is appropriate to ask for gear in this forum, but here it is.
I'm looking for an Orban 8100A1 for my personal rack. Every 8100 is welcome but there has to be a stereocoder in it.

Please PM me or drop me a mail.

Yep,

But no one wants to send to europe and i think i can buy a better device from someone from this forum.
I know multiple examples of screwed up 8100's purchased via ebay.

That's why

Got ONE!!

After a search of 1 week , receiving multiple fraudulent emails and other non thrustfull offers, I found a nice optimod.
For classic optimods, check the website from bay country broadcast.

Are you going put this beauty on your livestream? Than you have a real 80's sound.

You can bet it will be present. But i'll have to lay down the clipping on this unit.

Forget Bay Country broadcast please, they overcharge shipment cost en overprize their items.
He's nice to you until you have paid. My personal experience, skip this guy with his shop.

Some years ago i bought several items from Steve at Bay country no problems then, but when i wanted to buy more later on i was told they no longer send international(in this case to the UK) due to some bad experiences over payment.

It is a shame as i would still buy the odd piece of gear from him if i could.

Steve is an awesome dude. He is in business to make money, did you think he was going to give the box to you and throw in shipping? Perhaps you should be thankful for finding an 8100 instead of bitching about the price. You knew the cost going in I assume? yet you come in here and bitch about the cost. That's like drinking a carton of milk you know is bad, then complaining when it makes you sick.

I'm not bitching, i give my opinion. I don't come in here, i started this thread.
Your milk is from the Bay country shop as i may assume.
I give my opinion. Period.

Evert,

You agreed to buy an Optimod 8100A/1 for $1499.00 plus $148.00 shipping and insurance to the Netherlands via U.S.P.S. The next day after placing your order we informed you that there was a "0" card available if you wanted it for an additional $300.00. You agreed and we added it to your order. Now after receiving your equipment you tell people to avoid me because I charge too much for equipment. As far as I know your arm wasn't twisted to make the purchase. If you didn't like my prices you had the opportunity to purchase the equipment you needed some place else. Now since your posting you want me to be on the lookout for an XT-2 chassis for you. Your kidding right???

My Experience is all good with Baycountry.
To me, Steve appears as a very helpfull person.
I purchased a set of ORban AM boards and an XT2 chasis of him, shipped to the Netherlands at all reasonable prices.
I agree it sometimes takes long before you have it at home, but that's the problemm with the lazy guys at the customs. You can't blame Steve for that.

I bought an 8100A which was delivered for the price steve mentioned ($1499). No problem, item was delivered on time, as stated, perfectly packed. Price was ok. Only not in working state, steve forgot to tell it was an ex 8100A1 XT2.. After rejumpering it was working well. No big thing though, but a bit sloppy.

While i was planning to buy a second unit for a friend station i discovered steve increased the price for an single 8100A1 from $1499 to $3499. This is 2K extra!! Which is beyond absurdity.
That's what pissed me off.
I know this is a free market, where people can ask rediculous prices, but i'm also free to respond to that with negative feedback, especially when i was asked by steve to post a positive comment for his shop on Radio-info initially.

Before i'm pissing off everybody else, which is not my intention.

I would rephrase myself and say that I wouldn't want to buy there anymore.
The Statement of me that you as a reader shouldn't buy there anymore is not fair, because this is my personal experience.
And everyone has different experiences ( more positive ) than me as can be read in this thread.

This was my experience:
- Service and delivery/packing is perfect.
- Shipment is fast. ( < 1 week / 5 weeks customs )
- Is thrustfull.

- Communications is ok, until paid. After payment communication lowers to minimal level.
- Pricing first contact was ok, unit bought for "normal" price. Second time rediculous prices were asked. 2K overpriced.

That's it. My feedback. And the last thing i will write about this.
