Looking For Pre-fab Transmitter Building

I dont know if this would be an option for you but if you are near a railroad terminal you might look into a surplus communication hut, or whatever they called them. A friend scored one, plenty of electricity, enough AC to hang meat, nice lighting, secure doors. Dont know what he paid but basicly he had to haul it away and install it on his site. He is out in a rural area where there is a big railroad terminal and they had a couple of these things that were no longer being used.

I've seen a lot of these lately. I don't know how cost competitive that are, but the are really nice. Only if you don't need a big air conditioner, because the walls are only 1/2" - 1" thick. I've seen them at a lot of translator sites, they are light, but REALLY strong. Worth a look.

not necessarily this manufacturer, but this general idea...

A good prefab cell type building will be one if the most trouble free buildings you'll ever own. We have one site that has been in place since about 94 with a FireBond building and a Sun wallhugging air conditioner that has been excellent to us. You'll love it!

Point of order: that's Fibrebond http://www.fibrebond.com/. We got a big-honker for our AM site: holds multiple transmitters, phasors and racks and still has room for a work bench. A nice feature of having one built to your spec is that they'll pre-locate all of the wall-penetrations for conduit, cable, exhaust, etc. exactly where you want them.
