Looking for somebody

Looking for a lady who worked at an urban station in the Killeen area back in the early 90's. She worked there with her brother and then she moved to Chicago to work at 100.3. If you remember her name or where she works at, please let me know. Would like to say thanks for the words of wisdom 20 years ago! Thanks!

I believe you're talking about DeDe McGuire (her brother is Mychal). The were then when I was Chief Engineer of KIXS (latter KLFX) and KIIZ back when it was a daytime AM.

I think DeDe is in Dallas now doing mornings at KKDA-FM. I have very fond memories of her and her brother...absolute pros to work with. DeDe was one of those people that lit up a room when she walked in.

If you get in touch with her, tell her Kevin Randall from Killeen sends his best.

That I did. I got there in August of 1980, previously doing nights at FM-100 (KHOO) in Waco. I did 7-12 on-air until 1981. Ken Williams had sold the stations (KIIZ & KIXS) to Citimedia in Austin, and took Jerry with him. I came off the air then and build new studios on 190 near the airport...moved them there in Jan of 1982.

I got out of radio in 1991, and now head up an R&D team at an Austin high tech firm. Still miss it though.
