looking for UPS without an audible alarm

For a studio enviroment to run a workstation. I know some of the older APC units had little dip switched that could turn off this alarm, but the newer units seem to lack this.

I had the same need. I went inside a UPS and just took the little alarm out of it. Nice and quiet now. Of course, unless there are indicator lights on your particular UPS to communicate problems to you, you could be surprised in a bad way when the power fails.

I don't know what application you're trying to use this in, but I think the new Belkin line UPS offer you the ability to manage the UPS via a USB connection to your PC. If you have a PC in that studio that this UPS is supplying power to, you may think of connecting it and disabling the alarm.

Again, this all depends on the application.

>> Forgot to add in my previous that once the computer is hooked up (via USB) to the UPS, you can have notifications pop up on the screen to tell you how much battery you have left, efficiency, etc, etc...

One of the best UPS's I've seen is the APC BX900, however, it has an audible alarm.

it has voltage correction, a lot of juice, and Cold start. Cold start is cool, so you can start up your computer if the power goes out or if you need to make your desktop portable for a bit. USB connectivity. I wouldn't go without this one!
